This week has been a return to normalcy. I never thought a routine schedule would feel so good, but there are certain parts of my day that I really enjoy. Sitting down at my desk and taking that first sip of coffee is sometimes enough inspiration to get me going. Here’s some other things that have kept me going strong this week…
Rudimental - Toast to our Differences: This new album from the UK is absolutely brilliant and filled with artistic collaborations that I really enjoy including Chronixx and Kabaka Pyramid. The song “Toast to our differences” feels like a World Cup anthem that really unites people and has a strong positive message about inclusion that I can definitely get behind. Kid Koala - Music To Draw To io - Kid Koala has done it again! This some simply brilliant music to chill out and be creative to. So glad I discovered this one. If you want to start your day out right and really hear some music that will make your brain dance, then check this one out.
Jamie Browne: This incredible artist hails from Sydney Australia and creates some super clever and surreal designs that highlight surf and skate culture. I love the inventiveness of each design. He also seems like a super cool dude! Check out his work at www.jamiebrowneart.com/
The Curse of Oak Island: I am still on my History Channel kick and this show is so fun to watch. I think what I enjoy most is the bonding of the 2 brothers as they chase after their childhood dreams and fantasies of discovering a lost treasure together. The only thing that drives me nuts is the narrator repeating every little detail after they find the most minute things. “Could it be the long lost treasure from the Knights Templar?” No, it’s not! Stop saying that!
Cathy Heller: This week on the Creative Pep podcast Cathy was the guest and boy did she deliver a dose of positive energy into my life. Her story is so amazing and really showcases the power of persistence. I’m officially a huge fan!
Tottenham Hotspurs: I’ve been following this team since 1999 which is now half of my life. I’ve experienced the highs and lows, the frustrations and some awesome goals over the years. The motto of the team is “To Dare is to Do,” and that has become a statement that I very much believe in and hope to instill in my own son. I could write pages of how this team has helped me in my own personal life in so many ways, but for now, I’m going to go watch them play!
That’s all for this week! More inspirations to come every week! Stay tuned!
